Bexley 0 to 19's Health Visitors, Public Health Nurses and Community Nursery Nurses are here to support you, and your child until they start their reception year at school. To contact the Health Visiting service you can call 0300 330 5777, email bromh.bexley0to19@nhs.net, or access one of the regular Well Baby clinics.

If you have concerns regarding your child’s development, we are able to offer advice, support and practical strategies to use at home. This could be to support your child’s speech, physical development, behaviour, diet or wellbeing. Where needed and with your consent, a Health visitor, Public Health Nurse or Community Nursery Nurse can make referrals to specialist services. These include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Portage, Audiology and Community Paediatricians. It is important to remember that each service has its own criteria for referral and there can be considerable waiting times.

Information on Nursery/School SENCO

If your child is in nursery they will have a key worker and may also be supported by the settings' SENCO (Special Educational Coordinator). A SENCO is responsible for leading the settings' provision for special educational needs. The SENCO works closely with other staff within the setting, parents and external professionals to develop, implement and monitor individual support and learning plans for students with special educational needs.
